Founded nearly three decades ago in The Woodlands, TX, Design Tech Homes began with a clear goal: to pair timeless design with evolving technology. For founders Barbara and Mike Feigin, that combination has always been the foundation of quality. They saw early on how digital tools, precise engineering, and process-driven building could raise standards in custom home construction. They established a full-service design build firm serving the Greater Houston area.

Today, Barbara and Mike continue to lead the business alongside their son, Matthew Feigin, who serves as Director of Operations. With a background in accounting and hands-on field experience, Matthew brings a next-generation perspective while upholding the same commitment to innovation and integrity that defines the family business.

Driven by Technology

The company’s name reflects its mission to use technology to build smarter and more efficiently. From early CAD programs to today’s Revit 3D modeling, Design Tech Homes has continually adopted tools that enhance precision and streamline the building process. Revit creates a virtual version of the home, complete with every detail from the studs in the walls to the final finishes, so that every piece is planned before construction begins.

Virtual-reality walkthroughs have become an integral step in Design Tech Homes’ service. The walkthroughs allow homeowners to step inside their floor plan at full scale before building starts. “It eliminates surprises—when a client can stand in their future kitchen or living room virtually, they immediately understand how it feels,” Matthew says.

Entirely Custom

At Design Tech Homes, every home begins with a blank page. The team believes in creating spaces that reflect each homeowner’s lifestyle and story—not adapting a preexisting plan. “We want everything to be purposeful,” Matthew says. “No two families live the same way, so no two homes should either.” By managing every phase under one roof—from design and engineering to construction—Design Tech Homes ensures clear communication and precise execution.

Cambria Connection: A Partnership Built on Quality

That same commitment to craftsmanship extends to the materials Design Tech Homes specifies. Cambria quartz surfaces have become a cornerstone of its designs—valued for their durability and aesthetic range—and also the shared values of family ownership and accountability with the Cambria company. “Cambria is family owned, like us, and they take the same pride in their work as we do—standing behind what they make and doing it the right way,” Matthew says.

For their clients, consistency is what stands out most. “Cambria is incredibly consistent. What clients see and approve is exactly what’s installed—and that reliability makes it an easy choice for us,” he adds.

Standout Projects

French Country Home: Blending warm wood tones with deep blue accents, this 5,900-square-foot forever home strikes the perfect balance between timeless charm and modern character. The Hermitage™ kitchen island—crafted in a 3cm thickness with a beveled edge and eased corners—serves as the defining centerpiece of the space.

Contemporary Residence: In this 6,400-square-foot home, Everleigh is carried across the island, countertops, and full-height backsplash, creating cohesive surfaces that brighten the kitchen and draw the eye through the open space.

In the primary bath, Smithfield® tops the vanity for a clean, timeless look that complements the home’s modern architecture.

A Commitment to Excellence

Behind the scenes, the team follows a level of diligence unmatched in their area. Each home undergoes multiple third-party inspections, ENERGY STAR certification, and testing for air quality and efficiency. Every component—framing, mechanical systems, insulation—is reviewed before being covered, ensuring precision from the foundation up.

That same care extends well beyond move-in day. As the company has grown, so has its confidence in the longevity of its homes. Design Tech Homes now offers a 20-year structural warranty and five-year warranties for plumbing and electrical systems—warranties it has extended over time as the work has proven its durability. That same confidence in lasting quality is why the team values Cambria, whose transferable Full Lifetime Warranty reflects the same commitment they offer. “We’ve extended our warranties over the years because our homes consistently stand the test of time,” Matthew says. “That longevity is the best proof of quality we can give.”

Built for the Future

Nearly 30 years later, Barbara and Mike remain deeply involved, guiding every project with the same attention to detail that built their reputation.

We’re always improving how we build, but our philosophy never changes—do things the right way, and stand behind every home you deliver.
Matthew Feigin,
Director of Operations, Design Tech Homes
