Founded in 1969 by J.W. and Maggi Hancock, Camelot Homes has spent more than 55 years shaping Arizona’s luxury home building landscape. What began as one of the state’s first family-owned builders has grown into an award-winning luxury home builder known for creating thoughtfully designed communities throughout the Greater Phoenix area.

Inspired by the legendary kingdom of Camelot, the company envisions each neighborhood as a place where families can build meaningful connections and create their own lasting memories. Today, Camelot Homes, led by Mark and Julie Hancock, alongside the next generation of family leadership including Cammie Hancock Beckert and Trent Hancock, continues the legacy of craftsmanship, innovation, and exceptional customer experience.

A Personal Approach

Camelot Homes’ personalized design process is crafted to transform each homeowner’s vision into reality. The journey begins with an in-depth consultation, where Camelot’s expert design team learns about the homeowner’s lifestyle, aesthetic preferences, and functional needs. Guided by these insights, the team develops curated design concepts and selections tailored to each home. During a private appointment at the Camelot Design Studio, homeowners explore finishes and materials firsthand, with opportunities to collaborate with select vendor partners on lighting, technology, cabinets, countertops, and other design elements.

Cambria Connection

At Camelot Homes, Cambria is a natural extension of the company’s commitment to exceptional design, craftsmanship, and quality. The partnership resonates with luxury homebuyers who often arrive with a clear vision for the lifestyle and aesthetic they want to achieve, even if they have not yet identified the specific materials that will bring it to life.

Camelot also appreciates how Cambria’s natural quartz surfaces support the practical needs of everyday living, especially in high-use spaces like kitchens, bars, and baths. The designs offer the visual impact clients are drawn to, while the material’s durability makes it well suited for the spaces homeowners use most.

The appeal often begins with designs. Brenda points to Cambria’s more distinctive patterns, including Remington Brass™ as examples. “There’s really nobody else doing what Cambria is doing. Their designs are incredibly unique, sophisticated, and unlike anything else available in the marketplace,” she says.

Standout Build: The Edge

The Edge represents a new chapter in Camelot Homes’ design evolution. Nestled in North Scottsdale, near Desert Mountain and the Tonto National Forest, the 52-home community is among the builder’s most ambitious to date, featuring residences ranging from 3,400 to 5,000 square feet.

The community provided an opportunity to reimagine the Camelot experience from the ground up. In collaboration with Hannouche Architects, Camelot introduced an entirely new collection of floor plans, architectural styles, and elevations thoughtfully designed for the Sonoran Desert landscape.

Striking butterfly roofs, clerestory and celestial-style windows, dramatic geometric forms, and expansive walls of glass create seamless indoor and outdoor living spaces, resulting in homes that feel deeply connected to their surroundings with a distinctive architectural identity in the North Scottsdale market.

Inside the Home

In the featured Lot 5 model, Woodcroft in a Cambria Matte® finish serves as a defining design element throughout the home. The rich surface anchors the kitchen, spanning the waterfall island, perimeter countertops, and full-height range backsplash. The design’s character provides a sophisticated foundation for the desert-organic aesthetic while complementing the home’s contemporary architecture.

A New Chapter

As Camelot Homes looks to the future, the company is building on its legacy in a meaningful new way. Recently transitioning to an employee-owned company, Camelot has reinforced its commitment to the people who have helped shape its success for more than five decades.

That collective investment will help drive Camelot’s next phase of growth. With new model homes, additional communities planned throughout the Valley, and expansion opportunities in both the East and West Valley and beyond, the company continues to evolve while remaining deeply connected to the Arizona communities it has helped shape for more than 55 years.
