True North is a name that carries meaning beyond geography. For founder Gant Hinkle, it represents a guiding point—a sense of direction that grounds both life and home. That philosophy has become central to the company’s mission: building residences that anchor families with clarity, purpose, and designs that reflect their way of living.
Gant launched True North Homes in 2018 after years of flipping and remodeling properties across Tulsa, OK. What began as a personal pursuit quickly grew into a full-service design-build firm delivering both spec and custom homes. Today, True North Homes completes 50 to 60 projects annually across Tulsa, Oklahoma City, and Grand Lake, supported by a growing team of superintendents, designers, and specialists who bring luxury to life in every detail.
Cambria Connection
Gant first encountered Cambria years ago through his fabricator and was immediately struck by its distinctive look and feel. He had always understood the quality and loved the look of the material, even before he had the opportunity to incorporate it into his own homes. What stood out most was the way Cambria paired durability with design—offering performance that other products simply couldn’t match. His admiration for the brand set the stage for him to fully showcase Cambria in his own residence, where he was able to integrate it throughout nearly every space.
A Special Showcase: Parade of Homes
When a prime half-acre lot became available in one of Midtown Tulsa’s most sought-after neighborhoods, Gant recognized its potential and claimed it for himself. He set out to make it both his family’s home and his entry in the annual Parade of Homes. The 6,800-square-foot residence showcased True North Homes’ craftsmanship, earning First Place and Best Interior Design in the $2-million-plus category, while drawing more than 5,000 visitors.
Striking Quartz Kitchen: The kitchen became the showpiece, anchored by Cambria’s Inverness Stonestreet™ across the countertops, a six-centimeter mitered-edge island, and a striking wrapped vent hood. “Wrapping the vent hood in Cambria was a challenge, but having to specially engineer it made the detail one of my favorites. It’s the kind of craftsmanship that makes a kitchen stand out,” Gant says.

Glass-Enclosed Lounge: Once an office, the now glass-enclosed lounge also features Remington Brass™ on a bar countertop. “Turning the space into a lounge felt more true to how we actually live and became a really inviting spot,” Gant explains.
Light-Filled Primary Bath: The primary bath highlights Cambria’s Inverness Blakeley, which tops the vanity and rises into a backsplash that meets an expansive window wall.

Elevated Laundry Room: Inverness Blakeley also helps transform the laundry room from everyday to extraordinary. Paired with bold purple paint and a wallpapered ceiling, the textural quartz design spans the island, countertops, and backsplash. “We didn’t want the laundry room to feel like an afterthought. With the Cambria surfaces and the unique color and pattern, it became a space that really stands out,” Gant says.
Refined Primary Closet: Custom white oak cabinetry is anchored by a central island topped with Cambria’s dark-toned Remington Brass, a quartz design accented with metallic alloy veining. Built off-site and installed as a complete system, the custom design set the closet apart as both functional and luxurious.
With its rich and varied mix of materials, the home highlights True North Homes’ ability to execute complex applications with precision. The recognition at the Parade of Homes confirmed what Gant set out to prove: craftsmanship and construction are what set his homes apart.
A Winner’s Advice
Gant’s guidance to homeowners is simple: it’s all about balance—from the build to the selections to the price. He encourages clients to focus their investment on the high-traffic, most important areas, letting everything else follow.
On the Horizon
Even with the success of the Parade of Homes, Gant sees True North Homes’ story as just beginning. “We want to grow, but we want to grow organically. Tulsa will always be home, but expanding into markets like Oklahoma City and Dallas gives us the chance to continue producing high-quality homes,” he says.
