Synergy Homes: Built on Experience, Defined by Vision

In 2021, Steve Wamser drew on years of industry knowledge and hands-on experience to establish Synergy Homes WI. Based in Franklin, WI, the boutique firm serves the southeast corner of the state with a focus on luxury home building. Each year, the company completes about 10 custom residences—each one reflecting Steve’s belief that thoughtful planning, clear communication, and quality craftsmanship are the foundation of a truly successful build.

From Homeowner to Home Builder

Before starting Synergy Homes WI, Steve spent years managing furniture and flooring storefronts, working closely with homeowners and contractors alike. That early exposure gave him insight into the lasting impact of quality choices and durable products. In 2014, when he and his wife built their own home, Steve experienced the construction process from the client’s perspective.

He became deeply involved in the build, referred several people to the builder afterward, and eventually joined the team. Reflecting on that journey, he describes it simply: “It’s kind of the American dream. You learn how to do things—and realize you might be able to do them better.” That philosophy led to the creation of Synergy Homes WI: a small, skilled team dedicated to building custom homes with integrity, intention, and attention to detail.

A Collaborative Approach

With a tight-knit crew that includes an in-house architect, project managers, and a selections coordinator, Synergy Homes WI offers a highly personalized experience. Steve is often the first point of contact when clients reach out—typically after purchasing a lot—and works with them to design a home tailored to their land, lifestyle, and vision. Whether it’s a lakefront retreat or a high-acreage estate, Synergy Homes brings the same thoughtful approach to every detail.

Cambria Connection

Steve’s connection to Cambria began long before Synergy Homes WI. While managing flooring and countertop stores, he came to know Cambria through its local rep and quickly recognized the brand’s standout quality. Today, Cambria is written into most contracts, typically in kitchens and primary bathrooms.

We know it’s the best product from a durability standpoint, and the leader in style and design. With Cambria, I’ve never had an issue—and if we ever did, I know they’d stand behind it.

One standout design, Windsor Brass™, has become a go-to for the team, used in four homes in the past year. “It’s elegant and bold,” says Steve. “And people are drawn to it. It’s one of those materials that makes a real impression.”

Homes That Shine

The Cambridge: This 5,800-square-foot model features Inverness Swansea on the island with a bold two-inch edge, paired with Inverness Frost in Cambria Matte® on the perimeter countertops and the backsplash. Together, the designs balance warm wood cabinetry and crisp white finishes to create a kitchen that is both welcoming and refined.

The Marigold: This custom ranch home highlights the dramatic movement of Brittanicca™ across both the island and perimeter countertops. Its sweeping veining ties the black-and-white cabinetry together, making the surface a striking centerpiece for the kitchen.

The Anna Rose: This 5,000-square-foot custom home features Cambria’s Skara Brae® in both the laundry room and primary bath. Cladding countertops in each room, the veining complements stainless steel finishes and a soft green-and-white palette, resulting in spaces that feel clean, contemporary, and polished.

Innovation in Action

For Synergy Homes WI, Cambria innovation and design versatility make it a standout material across a wide range of applications. The team regularly incorporates it into statement features like waterfall islands, full-height backsplashes, and thick-edge countertops.

Fireplaces are another favorite application. “We’ve done several with Cambria,” Steve says. “Some simple, some extravagant—but always a great statement piece.”

A Natural Evolution

Next for Synergy Homes WI: large-scale luxury remodeling. After successfully completing a full renovation of a lake house—where Cambria quartz surfaces were used—the team is eager to take on more transformative projects and continue incorporating Cambria into them.

Rather than dramatic growth, the company believes expanding into remodeling offers a way to broaden its scope without compromising the quality and care that define its work. For Steve and his team, it’s about creating spaces that endure—with Cambria as a trusted partner in every step forward.
