Founded in 2010 by Boone, NC, native Matt Vincent, VPC Builders began with a vision to put the client at the center of every project. That vision was rooted in Matt’s desire to build lasting spaces that serve families and his community. Today, the company has grown into a full-service residential and commercial builder known for delivering luxury mountain homes and purpose-driven spaces across North Carolina.
VPC’s in-house interior designer, Lindsey Royle, is the “missing link between construction and design,” she says. She plays a key role in bridging the technical build with clients’ aesthetic goals, ensuring every space is thoughtfully designed from the ground up.
Modern Mountain Living
Whether building homes or commercial spaces, VPC Builders is known for its modern mountain aesthetic—a style that draws from the natural beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Projects often incorporate floor-to-ceiling windows, natural materials, and an “outside-in” philosophy that brings nature into everyday living.
Whether framing mountain views or integrating wood and stone finishes, every detail is designed to blur the lines between indoors and out. “We don’t want to compete with what we already have up here,” says Lindsey. “We’ve got beautiful surroundings, and we want materials that complement that. Cambria does that for us.”
Cambria Connection
VPC Builders began specifying Cambria natural quartz surfaces in 2021 when introduced to the material by local fabricator Classic Stoneworks. Already admired in the design community, Cambria stood out for its performance, versatility, and aesthetic appeal. She notes that VPC Builders has used Cambria quartz designs to elevate many surfaces in the home, from statement kitchen islands to full-height backsplashes and fireplace surrounds.
Recent Projects
For clients desiring a serene space that lets the surrounding natural beauty shine, Lindsey often turns to these Cambria classics: MonTaaj™, inspired by the beauty of quartzite with antique gold accents, and Carrick™, a modern spin on smooth concrete in shades of gray.
On the other end of the spectrum, the clients of several recent projects have welcomed a bolder look. For example:
Blackstone Summit, an indulgent modern home, features a dark, masculine kitchen anchored by Cambria’s Skara Brae with a polished finish. The veined quartz flows from the island to a matching range backsplash, creating a bold and cohesive focal point.

Cliff’s Edge, a contemporary mountain escape, also incorporates Skara Brae with a polished finish but the end result takes on a warmer, sleeker tone. The kitchen features a uniquely cut, five-sided island, as well as a matching full-wall backsplash that wraps behind the range, sink, and surrounding countertops, bringing together the entire space beautifully.

Oak Ridge, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, embraces a warm cabin aesthetic. This remodeled home features Brittanicca Gold Warm™ with a polished finish on both the waterfall-edge island and perimeter countertops, paired with rich golden-toned cabinetry for a welcoming, nature-inspired look.

From Commercial to Community Impact
In an upcoming project, VPC Builders will incorporate Cambria quartz surfaces throughout a newly constructed bank, including a statement fireplace in the grand entryway and a custom reception desk designed to anchor the space with function and style.
Beyond private-sector builds, VPC Builders is deeply engaged in projects that serve the local community. The team recently completed a local food pantry that provides free, nonperishable goods to those in need. The company is currently building a new community center for the Western Youth Network, a regional nonprofit supporting underprivileged kids. For a firm based in a tight-knit mountain town, building community spaces is as meaningful as building homes.
Design Trends: Maximalism
As VPC Builders’ projects evolve, so do client preferences. Lindsey is seeing a shift toward thoughtful maximalism, spaces that layer texture, tones, and patterns in a way that feels curated, not chaotic. “I’m incorporating that into designs by layering textures and patterns in a more organic, elemental way rather than a bold, in-your-face way,” she says.
This evolving aesthetic is also bringing a return to warmth. “We’re seeing more warmth,” she adds. “We’re getting away from the stark whites and grays, which I’m not mad about. I love warm, neutral tones and materials.”
Trusting the Process
At the heart of every VPC Builders’ project is trust. “These are long-term relationships,” Lindsey says. “You need to trust your designer, trust the recommendations, and trust the vision.” That trust extends to every detail—from the materials they select to the partners they collaborate with—ensuring consistency, care, and quality throughout the process. VPC Builders’ goal is always the same: that “exhale” moment when someone walks into their space and it just feels right.
