Since 2010, Top Cabinetry has specialized in creating refined, highly customized kitchens and baths through a design-led process tailored to each client. The company was founded by Robert Oraha, an interior designer with a degree from Harrington Institute of Design, whose background in fabrication led him to see that kitchens and baths were where his expertise could make the greatest impact. Based in Chicago and Orland Park, the Top Cabinetry team primarily serves the greater Chicago area and also takes on select out-of-state projects for returning clients—including second homes in markets such as Florida.
Inside the Design Process
Every Top Cabinetry project begins with collaboration, guided by Robert’s discerning sense of proportion, texture, and flow. His process starts with discovery—a phase that goes far beyond color samples. “I always ask people to give me some sort of inspiration. Give me a hundred pictures if you want because I can pinpoint exactly what you’re really attracted to,” Robert explains. From there, he develops a few curated directions to help clients visualize their ideal space.
Robert’s approach balances listening and leadership. He takes time to understand each client’s style, then gently pushes their creative boundaries to achieve something distinctive and deeply personal. The result is a portfolio of kitchens and baths that balance classic comfort with individual expression.
A Cambria Connection from the Start
Robert’s partnership with Cambria began more than 15 years ago, long before his first showroom opened. While still in fabrication, he heard Cambria CEO Marty Davis speak about the brand’s roots and vision—and immediately knew it was something he wanted to be part of. That conviction led him to pursue Premier Partner status, a goal realized after a pivotal conversation at KBIS. For nearly seven years, he proudly represented Cambria as Illinois’s sole Premier Partner.
Standout Kitchens
The New Neighbor: When a neighbor stopped in to introduce himself at the new Orland Park showroom, he didn’t expect to find his future kitchen designer. Enchanted by the showroom’s craftsmanship and materials, he and his wife soon entrusted Robert to bring their own kitchen vision to life. The result is a warm yet sophisticated space anchored by an oversized Inverness Blakeley island and complemented by Ironsbridge countertops that extend nearly 10 feet to a full-height backsplash. On the cabinets, a combination of brush-glazed white and white oak balances traditional detailing with modern openness.

Lake Point Modern: Designed for a family in Chicago’s Lake Point Tower, this modern kitchen renovation aimed to open and brighten the space so views of Chicago’s skyline could be seen from anywhere in the home. This kitchen was created in collaboration with Janessa and Stephen Gertz of Milieu Interior Design, who first began working with Top Cabinetry as a client. The heart of the design is Cambria’s Annicca® in the kitchen and adjacent dining space. Its soft gray veining flows from the kitchen’s mitered waterfall island and full-height backsplash to the dining area’s showstopping full-wall backsplash and buffet countertop.
Showrooms That Inspire
Step into either of Top Cabinetry’s showrooms and you’ll see Robert’s design philosophy in action. The Chicago location, a compact 1,000-square-foot space that opened in 2018, highlights five full kitchen displays that blend refined materials and timeless layouts. The new Orland Park showroom, spanning 10,000 square feet, offers a bolder expression of his creativity with larger-scale installations and unexpected material pairings that show how modern design can still feel warm and personal.
Local Style
Across his two showrooms, Robert sees distinct design sensibilities emerge. In Chicago, projects often come through interior designers, leading to more experimental work with bold finishes and creative pairings. In Orland Park, clients prefer a warmer, more classic aesthetic rooted in livable luxury.
Robert has noticed a shift toward warmer, nature-inspired cabinetry palettes—rich woods, layered neutrals, and soft greens. “People are moving away from all-white kitchens,” he says. “They still want them light and clean, but with more warmth and depth.” While most clients lean toward airy, organic tones, Robert finds that in bars and basements, they still gravitate toward moody, dramatic hues like Remington Brass™.
