Cambria Opens New Quartz Processing Center in Minnesota

Le Sueur, MN/September 29, 2026 – Cambria, the leading American-made, family-owned producer of natural quartz surfaces, is deepening its commitment to U.S. manufacturing with the opening of the 61,000-square-foot Cambria Quartz Processing Center in Randolph, MN. The facility began operations July 6, 2026. A grand opening is planned for October 13, 2026. Cambria invested $80 million in this specialized quartz-processing campus, which includes a customized rail center.

The facility is designed to receive bulk natural raw quartz via railcars from the company’s Canadian mines, which Cambria has owned and operated since 2018. The quartz is then processed to final specifications and sent to Cambria’s manufacturing facility in Le Sueur, MN, where it is made into the beautiful quartz surfaces found in homes across the country.

“Designing this facility required us to think differently about quartz and our processes,” said Marvin Bartlett, Executive Vice President of Engineering. “The team worked closely with R&D and Operations to create a system that delivers the precision and consistency Cambria products demand. It is incredibly rewarding to see that vision come to life.”

Rather than adapting traditional aggregate processing methods, the team developed a system tailored for quartz—ensuring the material is prepared with the precision required for Cambria surfaces, while also increasing material yield and maximizing the value of each ton harvested. Turning that vision into a fully operational facility required deep engineering expertise and extensive cross-functional collaboration. From designing the material flow to integrating specialized equipment, every detail was built to support efficiency, reliability, and product consistency including the ability to move raw quartz efficiently by rail rather than relying on material transported by truck.

“This new site represents an important step forward for Cambria. It gives us greater control over a critical part of our supply chain while creating new opportunities for employees to grow their skills and expertise. Cambria’s new facility has been built through local partnerships, from Minnesota architects to engineers, construction professionals, and tradespeople. At the height of construction, it required the coordination of approximately 300 workers, a testament to the facility’s scale and the teamwork required to complete it. The project reflects what Cambria does best: bringing together talented teams to turn bold ideas into reality.

Once fully operational, the facility will employ between 50 and 70 team members across operations, maintenance, logistics, and leadership. It will offer employees new opportunities to develop specialized skills within a critical part of the company’s operations. The site will also strengthen the company’s ability to manage a critical part of its supply chain internally. By preparing the quartz closer to home and shipping it directly to Le Sueur, the operation gains greater flexibility, reliability, and control—advantages that support continued growth.

The facility will operate in coordination with Cambria’s many Minnesota facilities in Le Sueur, St. Peter, Belle Plaine, Rochester, Minneapolis, and Eden Prairie, MN. It is significant for both the local community and regional economy. Cambria employs over 1,200 people in Minnesota and has upwards of 2,000 employees throughout the U.S.
