In the primary bathroom of this Los Angeles–area home of entrepreneur Jaclyn Johnson, British interior designer Ginny MacDonald paired Colton™ quartz design on the vanity countertop with more Colton on the walls, floor, and ceiling of the shower. This choice grounds the design scheme, which also features glass, tiles, concrete, terrazzo, leather, cane, wood, and an abundance of greenery. The effect is at once subdued and eclectic.
Create a Spa-Like Oasis
Cladding the bathroom walls, tub deck, and shower in a quartz design like Brittanicca™ lends drama to an otherwise monochromatic color scheme (as shown below on the left). The eye is drawn along by the gentle motion of the design’s veining, creating a sense of relaxation. The organic aesthetic continues through the clean lines of paneled wood cabinetry, softly textured window treatments, and glass shower doors. Beyond the unifying function is peace of mind because quartz is a nonabsorbent material that cannot be penetrated by moisture or bacteria.
In another primary bath renovation (shown below on the right), 300 square feet of our Annicca™ quartz design is prominently featured in a walk-in steam shower with a built-in bench and easily accessible shelves to accomodate those favorite luxury skincare products. Interior decorator Abby Tallman notes that Annicca has gold flecks that tie in perfectly with these brushed bronze fixtures—elegance befit of a favorite space to unwind. Carrying the Annicca quartz design beyond the shower to the bathroom’s double sink and makeup vanities provides a calming cohesivness punctuated with enough personality to add interest to this otherwise mostly white space.
