Founded in 1994, KRB Kitchen + Bath Design Center began as a custom home building company based in Stratham, NH. Owner and designer Kevin Roy grew up in the construction business, developing an early understanding from his father.
A pivotal shift came in 2005 with the opening of a kitchen and bath showroom. As the design side of the business grew, Kevin and his team recognized that kitchens and baths were where they could make the greatest impact. About a decade ago, KRB made the strategic decision to specialize exclusively in kitchen and bath design and remodeling.
Today, the firm serves homeowners throughout the Seacoast region of New Hampshire, as well as northern Massachusetts and southern Maine. It offers a full-service, design-build approach rooted in regional character.
Preserving Character, Elevating Performance
Kevin’s design philosophy is client-centered but shaped by the realities of New England. “We’re working with older homes, there’s less land for new construction, and people want to preserve the character that already exists,” he says. “Remodeling just makes sense. It makes up the majority of our business.”
Many of the homes KRB renovates were built long before modern lifestyles, with kitchens tucked into the back of the house and limited natural light. The team addresses these challenges by rethinking layouts, introducing extended islands, and adding larger windows.
The Cambria Connection
Kevin first began specifying Cambria in the early 2000s, when quartz was emerging.
For Kevin and his clients, that individuality remains the top selling point, along with the durability and ease of maintenance homeowners want in high-use spaces like kitchens and baths.
KRB often directs clients to Cambria’s nearby showroom in Milford, MA, where viewing full slabs can significantly shape final decisions. As Carrie Roy, KRB’s Sales Manager, explains it: “Clients often come in thinking they want something subtle, but once they see the slabs in person, the movement and design can completely change their perspective,” she says.
Carrie recalls one project where a client arrived convinced Everleigh™ was the right choice. “But once they stumbled upon Windsor Brass™ in person, they immediately changed their minds. It surprised all of us—especially them,” she laughs.
Cambria in the Home
The Bellamy Residence: This renovation transformed a narrow, colonial-style kitchen, introducing a long, extended island fit with a wood table at one end. Large wood-lined windows were added, flooding the space with natural light and showcasing Cambria’s Everleigh across the island and surrounding countertops.
Lighting was critical: “With all the new light coming in, the clients wanted to make sure the glare and reflections weren’t getting in the way of the design. In the eleventh hour we switched from polished to Cambria Matte® finish for this reason,” Carrie says.

KRB carried the same design into the primary bathroom, where it appears on the vanity countertop, as well as in the shower niche and ledge. Paired with warm wood cabinetry and tiles in a range of blues, it helps create a serene feeling and maintain cohesiveness throughout the home.

The Modern Masterpiece: A second project showcases Cambria’s Skara Brae in what Kevin describes as the “largest island he has ever completed”—approximately 13 feet by 9 feet. The modern, geometric triangular island was fabricated from two slabs, carefully vein-matched for a seamless appearance. The island features a wood edge, a signature detail Kevin often incorporates to complement the style of a home. Surrounded by dark cabinetry and expansive sliding windows, the kitchen bridges modern design and classic New England sensibility.

The Future of New England Design
KRB continues to see strong demand for classic New England kitchens and baths, where white cabinetry remains a staple and Cambria designs like Portrush® and Brittanicca® continue to resonate. “Brittanicca is one of those designs that just doesn’t go away. For us, it put Cambria on the map and kept them on the map,” Kevin says.
While those timeless designs remain staples, the team is equally eager to incorporate newer selections like St. Isley™, bringing fresh character and warmth to future projects.
