Jennifer Kizzee, founder of Jennifer Kizzee Design, has transformed her full-service residential interior design firm from a solo venture into a thriving team of nine, now celebrating its ninth year in business. From sophisticated urban residences to serene coastal retreats, her firm meticulously designs stunning interiors across southern Texas.

Her philosophy centers on creating personal and customized spaces, guiding clients through complex renovations with creativity and meticulous execution. “On average, we spend at least a year with one client going through a construction or renovation project,” Jennifer notes. “We help them navigate it for the best possible outcome.”

From Passion to Profession: A Designer’s Journey

Many interior designers share a common thread: early exposure to creativity and an innate desire to transform spaces. For Jennifer, this passion was inherited from her grandmother and mother. Growing up, she watched them reimagine the living room many times, without buying new furniture. “It fascinated me,” she recalls.

As an adult, Jennifer rearranged her own home, drawing compliments and requests for help from friends. Initially hesitant to monetize her passion, she pursued a career in marketing and sales. However, balancing both led to burnout, prompting a pivotal conversation with her husband. In 2016, with his encouragement, she became a full-time interior designer. Nine years later, Jennifer Kizzee Design has flourished, growing from working solo at a desk in her living room to leading a dedicated team.

Discovering Cambria—and Making a Connection

Jennifer’s introduction to Cambria came at a local Benjamin Moore store, where a display pairing Cambria natural quartz surfaces with paint swatches caught her eye. Intrigued by the product’s designs, she began researching Cambria and integrating it into her projects. “Over the years, we kept comparing Cambria to other surfaces,” she explains. “It became clear it was a superior product.” Today, it is the only quartz product her firm specifies, often being the only surface used unless a client requests an alternative.

She finds clients consistently drawn to Cambria’s design versatility, durability, and the peace of mind offered by its transferable Full Lifetime Warranty. “Nothing else we put in front of clients comes close,” Jennifer states. “If there’s price hesitation, I reinforce the long-term value and warranty benefits—and 90% of the time, that’s enough.”

A Cover Story Project

Jennifer and her team achieved a milestone when a major project was chosen for the cover story of the Spring 2025 Cambria Style magazine. This full renovation of a three-story condo marked a pivotal evolution for the firm. The goal: to create a sophisticated look inspired by a New York penthouse in a prewar building.

Encompassing general contracting and interior design, the project leveraged the expertise of the whole team. “To find out it would be on the cover of Cambria Style felt like a major confirmation of our work and team effort,” Jennifer shares.

The kitchen’s design was anchored by a classic black-and-white checkered floor in the dining nook, which inspired the entire color palette. Cambria’s Inverness Everleigh™ distinguishes the countertops, island, and backsplash, creating a harmonious flow. Cambria also figures prominently in the luxurious primary bath, where Inverness Swansea™ appears on countertops, the backsplash, and the apron, finely fabricated with a three-piece profile of varied depths for architectural elegance.

Beyond Countertops: Innovative Uses

The firm consistently pushes Cambria’s design potential beyond countertops. “When we order quartz for countertops, we think about other areas to incorporate it,” she says. In a recent kitchen, Everleigh™ was also used to frame a window and add a sleek shelf beneath it. In a stunning primary bath, Southport™ was installed as a dramatic full-height wall as well as used for a beautiful fluted apron, adding texture and depth.

They also specify Cambria for shower benches, shampoo niches, and curbs.

The fact that there’s so much natural movement in Cambria’s designs is music to my ears. Our clients want something organic and warm—and Cambria delivers.
