Sports fans take note: Next time you’re choosing a luxury hotel, consider the view. Can you look out the window at an NFL team’s training facility? If you’re staying at the Omni Vikings Lakes Hotel in Eagan, MN, you’ll be able to do just that. And you really need to see it to believe it. It’s spectacular. The four-star hotel is adjacent to Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center, the headquarters of the Minnesota Vikings since 2018. And half of the hotel’s 320 rooms overlook the TCO Performance Center and TCO stadium. So you can watch the team practice and play exhibition games, or potentially see a Viking or two: The team will stay at the hotel on the nights before all home games, and—as if catching sight of elite NFL players wasn’t enough—fans will have the opportunity to stay in the hotel during future Vikings training camps. “We designed everything about the hotel to be unique and experiential, down to the last detail,” says general manager Brent Glashan. “The connection with the Vikings goes from the very obvious—the setting—right down to the way the color purple and the letter ‘V’ appear in subtle ways in the design.”

Of course, staying at the Omni Viking Lakes is far from a football-only experience—so non-fans, take heart. The property boasts an elegant Nordic-modern design rich with luxe materials and subtle nods to Viking culture. Think warm wood tones, touchable fabrics and furs, and natural stone like Cambria throughout. You’ll also find all the amenities any luxury traveler expects, from the full-service Idlewild spa (not to be missed: the detoxifying and circulation-boosting Finnish ritual of cycling between hot and cold treatments), to the fitness center and swimming pool, to the selection of gourmet dining options. “We’re really excited to partner with local James Beard Award–winning chef Ann Kim for our main hotel restaurant, Kyndred Hearth,” says Glashan. A stroll away is the natural beauty of the Viking Lakes community and its vibrant shopping and restaurant scene. If you’re working or entertaining at the Omni Viking Lakes, you’ll have 35,000 square feet of meeting space and six two-story hospitality lounges. So whether you’re in the mood for a spa day, a football fan’s fantasy weekend, or a luxurious meeting center, the Omni Viking Lakes has you covered.
