You know you’ve made it as a designer when your brand is strong enough to expand into other ventures. And that’s just the type of success Amanda Lorenz, founder and principal designer of St. Paul, MN–based Henri Interiors, has had in the three years since she launched her firm. Now, she’s branching out into retail with the launch of Henri Home, a home and lifestyle boutique in charming Wayzata, MN, that opened in January 2022.

Inspired by their travels to Malibu and Joshua Tree, Lorenz and her partners wanted to bring their take on relaxed, organic, California-style living to the Midwest. “Wayzata is all about casual, lakeside living, so we felt that this shop could fill a niche in the local marketplace with a curated selection of unique, coastal-influenced pieces for the home,” says Lorenz. “And we’ve had great feedback so far—we’ve attracted a wonderful, artful clientele from the community that comes here to shop and to gather.”

Henri Home stocks a range of goods: furniture, accessories, art, rugs, pillows made from vintage materials, custom pillows, lighting, and much more. “We’ve spent a lot of time working with large- and small-batch makers and vendors across the U.S., people we’ve met at markets or during our travels, to collect a really wonderful mix of goods for every budget,” says Lorenz.

The look you’ll find at Henri Home is in line with Lorenz’s signature aesthetic (which you can admire in the luxurious bath she designed for former Minnesota Viking Kyle Rudolph and his wife Jordan, as featured in Cambria Style’s Summer 2022 Issue).

“We love lots of texture, wood tones, earthy pottery, steel—so though you’re getting a California coastal vibe, there’s also an edgy, modern feeling in the selection. And everything is geared toward the community and the climate of the area, which is all about lake living, farmers’ markets, and brunches. It’s casual but stylish and artful,” says Lorenz.

Lorenz and her partners wanted to make shopping at Henri Home as easy and as satisfying as possible—reflecting the experience of working with their team at Henri Design. “We made the decision to buy a lot of back-stock, because it’s so frustrating to find the perfect sofa, say, and then have to wait for months to get it,” says Lorenz. And now you don’t even have to be in Wayzata to shop at Henri Home—the collection is available on the store’s website MyHenriHome.com
