Sumptuous Cinnamon Bun Waffles From Scratch

INGREDIENTS FOR WAFFLES

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tablespoons sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1½ cups milk
  • ⅓ cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

INGREDIENTS FOR CINNAMON TOPPINGS

  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon

INGREDIENTS FOR CHEESE TOPPING

  • 2 ounces cream cheese
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS

Preparing the waffle batter: First, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a medium-size mixing bowl. Next, add the eggs, milk, butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until lightly moistened. Let’s cook: Preheat the waffle iron then spray with nonstick spray. Pour batter on the waffle iron, and cook until waffles are done. Tip: Remove the waffles with a fork to avoid burning yourself! Top it off: For the cinnamon topping, mix together melted butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar in a medium-size bowl. Next, in a smaller bowl, place butter and cream cheese together and microwave for 30 seconds. Once softened, add in the sugar and vanilla extract. The finishing touches: Layer the cinnamon and cream cheese topping over the warm waffles. Top with fresh raspberries or cream for an extra-special spin. Enjoy!
