Sumptuous Cinnamon Bun Waffles…From Scratch!

Cinnamon buns and waffles are each classics in their own right. When they come together in one delightfully decadent breakfast dish, you might just have a new weekend favorite —whether for a special occasion brunch, a cozy weekend at home, or even an unexpected holiday dinner party dessert!

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 Tablespoons sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1/3 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cinnamon Topping:
1/2 cup butter, melted

3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon

Cream Cheese Topping:
4 Tablespoons butter

2 ounces cream cheese
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract


1. Preparing the waffle batter: First, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a medium size mixing bowl. Next, add the eggs, milk, butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until lightly moistened.

2. Let’s cook: Preheat the waffle iron then spray with nonstick spray. Pour batter on the waffle iron, and cook until waffles are done. Tip: Remove the waffles with a fork to avoidburning yourself!

3. Top it off: For the cinnamon topping, mix together melted butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar in a medium size bowl. Next, in a smaller bowl, place butter and cream cheese together and microwave for 30 seconds. Once softened, add in the sugar and vanilla extract.

4. The finishing touches: Layer the cinnamon and cream cheese topping over the warm waffles. Top with fresh raspberries or cream for an extra-special spin. Enjoy!
