The GREENGUARD Certification ProgramSM is an industry independent, third-party testing program for low-emitting products and materials. GREENGUARD Certification is a valuable tool for architects, designers, product specifiers, and purchasing organizations that want to locate, specify, and purchase off-the-shelf, low-emitting products for indoor environments. GREENGUARD Certification is a voluntary program available to all manufacturers and their suppliers.
Cambria® Natural Quartz Surfaces has been GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified® by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) under the GREENGUARD Standard for Low Emitting Products. This certification allows Cambria Natural Quartz Surfaces to be a point contributor in any LEED-certified project in the category of Indoor Environmental Quality.
Cambria's GREENGUARD Children & School Certificate
|
According to GEI, children are more heavily exposed to environmental toxins than adults. They consume more food, water, and have higher inhalation rates per pound of body weight than adults.1 In an effort to ensure that young children with greater sensitivities are not affected by products negatively impacting air quality, the GEI created the GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certification to test chemical emissions from building products used in schools and daycares.
The GREENGUARD For Children & Schools certification also complies with the State of California Department of Health Services (CDHS) Standard Practice for testing chemical emissions, a more stringent certification than GREENGUARD’s Indoor Air Quality certification, and can be used to earn valuable credits in the CDHS Best Practices Manual for K-12 schools.
