CAD Instructor

St. Peter, MN

Cambria has an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who has AutoCAD experience and a desire to teach. This position is responsible for teaching CAD, templating, and the installation of cabinets, vanities, and other structures to Cambria business partners. Cambria’s learning center, Cambria University, is located in St Peter, MN.


Responsibilities:

  • Teach established curriculum (we will train the trainer)
  • Assist and coach business partners through complex jobs including templating, AutoCAD, Cambria drawing requirements, fabrication, and installation
  • Interacting with business owners, managers and employees 
  • Assist internal Cambria projects
  • Support the development and transition to new software and processes
  • Coordinate daily training schedules
  • Travel one week per month for delivery of “on the road” training
  • Understand and train work site conditions for safety
  • Understand and train the delivery of the Cambria brand 
  • Assist with installation of Cambria Quartz Surfaces as needed
  • Technical document writing 
  • Perform additional duties as directed by management

 

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.
  • Post-secondary education in estimating and architectural drafting preferred
  • Experience in kitchen and bath design, layout, quoting, and/or sales is preferred
  • Knowledge of the construction industry preferred
  • Ability to teach, coach and instruct
  • Ability to speak comfortably in front of groups of people
  • Strong communication skills required
  • Ability to communicate clearly through writing and reporting
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Excellent math skills (geometry)
  • Good computer skills (AutoCAD & Microsoft Office)
  • Architectural drafting skills
  • Ability to understand architectural blue prints
  • Willing to work extended hours as needed (late evenings, weekends)
  • Willing to travel (one week per month)
  • Must be able to perform heavy lifting duties when assisting with installations
  • Must be able to work in a variety of environments, including new construction sites, homes, commercial buildings and office environments
  • High level attention to detail
