Applications System Administrator

Cambria has an excellent opportunity for a motivated, organized individual seeking a challenging and rewarding opportunity in a fast-paced environment.  This position is responsible for effective installation, operation and maintenance of the M3, Maximo and Kronos systems.  The Applications System Administrator will work with other members of the IT department to keep the systems working effectively, with minimum downtime.


  • Install new and rebuild existing technical environments for Lawson M3, Maximo and Kronos applications
  • Develop and maintain installation, configuration and support procedures
  • Manage technical interactions between application components (workflow, e-Commerce, document capture, output manager, etc.)
  • Promote application objects to a Production environment, following the IT change control process
  • Copy or move data between application environments as necessary
  • Create, change and delete user accounts as necessary
  • Create and assign user roles, controlling user access to specific systems
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all systems and key processes
  • Monitor system performance (OS, application and database), taking correction action as necessary
  • Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
  • Manage and schedule jobs and verify completion of scheduled jobs
  • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures
  • Manage the database environments in conjunction with the DBA team
  • Work with the server team to ensure all required systems and data are successfully backed up on a daily basis
  • Ensure backup media is recycled and sent off site as necessary
  • Establish and test disaster recovery (DR) procedures
  • Monitor and administer files systems, directories, log files and print files
  • Coordinate and manage the installation of application patches and service packs
  • Coordinate operating system (OS) patches and upgrades with the server team on a regular basis
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • 2-year degree within a technical area of focus (ex: Computer Science)  
  • 3 to 5 years Application System Administration experience 
  • Lawson M3, Maximo or Kronos functional knowledge desirable
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, SQL Server, SharePoint, .NET)
  • Excellent documentation skills (system architecture, system configuration, standard operating procedures)
  • Strong process discipline (change management, problem management)
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills
  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and able to work within a team environment
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective interpersonal relationships
  • Results oriented with a strong sense of urgency
  • Self-motivated, execution focused and able to keep updated on the necessary technical skills
